I am back after this long, but oh how deserved break, in front of PC. The last two weeks were kind of busy with travels, work and university (yes, still!!!!). Now preparing for another trip to France again... I don't know if it is fun or no.
Recent events in Paris made me think about immigration, not trying to find the causes neither propose solutions for what happened there, just immigration issue and immigrants in general:
I can understand that in order to preserve their citizens chances and work, countries tend to build barrers and make a selection towards foreigners. I can understand too that some persons do immigrate in order to avoid bad conditions in their home countries, even though they know they will be living the same or even worse situation.
Now, there are others that do not care about all this, whose purpose is to have a good life conditions, having fun with friends, discover new cultures, learn languages, without considering who is who and where is he/she from. Moreover, and from my own experience, these used to be very valuable persons to companies, NGO's and other would love to have.
So my question is: why always considering one's origins before accepting him/her? In previous post I talked about this international spirit and identity that we find across different countries. Why do we still find immigrants' ghettos and stupid nationalism echoes in medias?
I don't know, maybe fear for some, maybe "excès de zèle" for the others in an intent to prove they are integrated... But the result is here: until we do not teach our children equality, friendship, and sane competitiveness, we will be suffering this for a looong while.
